Oh... OH... I thought this was the full game and it was called "Otome Legends (TRAIL VER)". And the whole description saying this isn't the full game was part of the game world. Just like the game "MetaWare High School (Demo)" by Not Fun Games. ...Especially cause you spelled Trial as Trail, I thought it was just a meta title and the description was in on it too.

I didn't realize there is actually a real full version that has been recently released for $15, which is 10 hours long. May I suggest putting "END OF THE TRIAL VERSION" at the end of what you can access in this game? Or if not, no biggie.  It's just when it ended, it was not clear. I thought I was supposed to figure out how to unlock the rest. I didn't realize I already reached the end of what is available. Mostly cause I thought this was actually the entire game and the title was meta.

ok anyways this is an actual review of the game so i will make sure to be serious as i type this (i will not but i mean)

in short: 7.5 atm

in full length:
(spoiler alert)

NOW WHERE DO I BEGIN. ok yusuke, white haired one , green haired one, and the nerd. they are all very charming. the geek nerd thing one is my fav because gap moe (i think every route boy has gap moe).

ok nvm i just replayed the game to get a look at the story again and apparenly the nerd is named ishida. anyways ishidas death was kind of. meh to me??? u shouldve gave chiharu - i think that is her name - and him more screentime and more digging into the lore. like since mc has also been bullied in middle school and ishidas getting bullied in high school they shouldve bonded over that.

tbh what this game lacks most is foreshadowing and i guess the discussion of past events??? and also more character depth. like more character traits if that makes sense? more creepy/mysterious vibes with nao and more personality with chiharu (im sorry queen ur just kind of lacking). and also the argument with nao and chiharu in the hiro route???? personally me id add a bit of chiharu mentioning middle school nao for people thinking about "wait what the fuck? huh?" as it goes on

etc.

naomi being so mean to hiro is so uncalled for....... like chiharu should at least tell her "why r u bullying that man like you did to me middle school?" or something like that. im guessing that the games gonna also explain how chiharu thought yuusuke was there. idk if the trafficking building is real or not but i hope it is. just like. chiharu mumbling to herself like there r two other people with her.

also i really wonder what is up with the "did u really think you had a choice" and this jarring feeling of "what the hell" lurking in the back of ur mind in ur playthrough of the game. maybe theres a big bad villain where its like "HAHAHAH I PLANNED THIS ALL I DISGUISED AS NAOMI AND MADE U INTO THE PERFECT OTOME MC BECAUSE BLAH BLAH BLAH"

theres also some error with the dialogue i think. idk if its still present rn but u should still get a proofreader for the release

anyways: 7.5/10

Can't wait for the steam version, keep up the good work! <3

I can't wait for the Steam version!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Spoilers ahead:

The plot twist killed my family and burned my crops /hj

I didn´t realize the tags until too late.... my mistake, but it also added to my experience (panicking because I thought I got a bad end or sum and replaying the game trying to get another ending in tears)

I was just a little suspicious of Naomi, yet she has more weight to the story than at first thought.  The amongus was a weird wake up call for me to realize this jdfnbdjsfn. I began from thinking Naomi might be a little thorn at the side for the plot to having no understanding of what was going on.  I love otome/dating sims that might just leave me in the asylumn /hj???

I dont know what´s happening but it´s very interesting as it is. I liked it, whatever is the developer next move with this game, I wholeheartly support it <3.

OmO, I saw it in steam again. 6 weeks to go for the full release! I can't wait ✨

spoiler warning:

(+1)

spoiler warning again

ok update did i jsut miss a whole minigame in hsi route or am i dumb????????????? ive replayed the game like six times

Rest assured, his route says "to be continued" for a reason. I only released a small portion of his route.

(+1)

I had a lot of fun with this game, and I see a lot of potential for sure! I enjoyed the characters and the foreshadowing as well.  For gameplay I would suggest that you make the text that you click on for the minigames be easier to click instead of pressing on the text.

I also feel if it's possible to have a character profile on the bottom left of the page to see who is currently talking so it's more consistent than having characters continuously swap around. That made me feel confused on who is talking and could help with remembering characters as well.

Very excited when the game releases though!

I also believe that Naomi is Sus

O jogo é maravilhoso, joguei tudo que estava disponível em um dia! Muito obrigada por toda dedicação por estar fazendo esse jogo e e muitas outras pessoas aguardamos a continuação

(+1)

I've tried downloading this game but it keeps on saying that it failed the virus scan :( I was able to download the demo just fine, but I cant download the trial.

(+1)

That is so strange. Maybe try clicking "more info" and then download anyways? If the problem still persists I might have to reupload the game again.

(+1)

Ok, I fixed it. Try it now.

(+3)

So funny story when I download the game I didn’t see the  psychological horror tag an thought the warning at the beginning was a joke, or at the very most just things mentioned in routes. I also made the mistake of getting over attached.

(+5)
i like otome legends and i redrew a cg of the game in my style. i don't really have much critique but i enjoy the demo 4.6/5
(+2)

wtf your art style is so good

(1 edit) (+1)

Wow, I really enjoyed this demo overall! I'm definitely interested in seeing where the finished game will go after where things were left off in the demo. I really enjoyed the feeling of building comfort in the player followed by a sudden descent into horror.

*spoilers after this point*

I enjoyed the foreshadowing that was done, like Nao implying that you have to go through Ishida's route before unlocking the rest of the guys. Though I do wish more foreshadowing was done to build up Ishida's passing, and perhaps more time spent building the relationship between Ishida and Haru between the time they make-up and the time he passes. However, after this point, I enjoyed the sudden switches in tone in Yuusuke's route, especially in his endings. The sudden switches in tone worked way better in Yuusuke's route than in Ishida's route, since that barrier had already been broken. The way music was used in those scenes, as well as the CG of him in the hospital, definitely created an unsettling experience when coupled with the feeling of breaking the normalcy that was built.

I do think the tone after Ishida's passing could be improved upon a little, especially since I think there's a good foundation there. I think there's a sense of "fighting" between the lighthearted dating-sim tone that the "game" (the antagonist, in this context) is trying to push, and the struggles of Haru with her grief, though this could be built upon more. In the "lighthearted dating-sim" scenes after Ishida's death, there's this jarring feeling of emptiness, but not enough is done to make it feel intentional; it feels more like the player is expected to forget about Ishida and go for some other guy now. I think including some subtle horror aspects, like distorting the music slightly or making the dialogue kind of weird occasionally, would make it feel more like the player is MEANT to find this weird instead of just accepting it. I think it would make it feel more like there's something wrong with this new "reality" where Haru is suddenly an otome protagonist with a harem of guys to choose from, and it'd tie into the scenes where she experiences grief instead of just feeling like her pain is sudden.

Some post-epilogue scenes could be tweaked a little since they don't make as much sense with Yuusuke out of the picture, like Haru apparently not knowing her bff has a sister???? I think this segment can use more of the horror aspect as well to change up the scenes, since rereading scenes that are largely the same can get a little tedious.

There are two things I'm confused about. In the demo, it seemed like only that last choice with Yuusuke's sister mattered, and the rest of the choices didn't matter much. Will there be more impactful choices in the full game? Also, I don't understand what happened in the scene with the flowers (right before Ishida's death) AT ALL :'). Am I the only one confused about that scene?? I tried to reread it, and I still couldn't make head nor tail of it...

Overall, it's a really fun demo and I found myself hooked and wanting to see more! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the project for updates, because I'd love to play the release!

Edit: You may be aware of this already, but Ishida's ear disappears and reappears in some of his sprites!

Ah, that sure does clarify a lot, thank you! I'm sure it'll be clearer in the full game, which I'm looking forward to playing as I thoroughly enjoyed the demo!

So, ishida was my favorite, and what happened was really upsetting for me- though like another comment here, i wish his character was more fleshed out and we got to spend more time post- hospital scene so that it wasnt just a jarring shift. I *actually* have had my partner die and I'm still grieving/mourning that, and Ishida just being gone and hardly anyone mentioning it until the grave scene was pretty upsetting too. Even if he wasnt liked at school, nao and chiharu barely ever mention it, and they were literally having lunch together every day.

Theres definitely some improvement that can be made to the smoothness of the storyline here.

Nao sometimes gave me creepy weird vibes and id have liked that to be capitalized a little more, it would have been a good horror element to add in earlier on. Her silly nicknames were really fun and i enjoyed her character a lot

I will say though, the part with chiharu traumatized at the station was very real and felt very sudden and scary, nice job.

I wish that ishida could be saved, and there was an alternate route to take. They trained for weeks for the sports fes, and that is a classic "school event" where you can see more of all the characters in a cast, and yet it wasnt used at all, it would have been nice to see nao and the rest of the boys and how they did during sports fes. It felt very much like youd have no idea what you were getting into with the other boys of the cast after ishida, and i was like "idk who you are, why would i wanna date u especially just after ishida died T_T"

Generally speaking, the game has great art- the backgrounds dont bother me, i mean, same, tbh- and the little mini games werent too tedious. I think it has a lot more potential than its currently being utilized for. I'd love to see the game more polished and up for sale, actually. I do wish you could pick your name, but i get given the setting why its chosen for you and youre not stuck with a portrait, though you do see a rep of her in the mini games and other scenes, i find that very palatable.
The little "otome in an otome" is very funny and enjoyable and overall id still recommend anyone to play this game, it just has a lot of room to grow.

Some triggers:
Kidnapping,
Drugging (through a cloth)
Suicide (?)
PTSD episode
Murder
As far as it goes, none of this is particularly graphic or shown, but some of the sound effects are a little upsetting, and there is a CG of a young girl being kidnapped and drugged through a cloth.

This game was quite interesting, to say the least. I have to say, after completely finishing all of the routes, I'm left slightly confused, though this game (being a demo as it is) does have its high points. Since it isn't complete, I thought I would take the time to make some critiques:

**Spoilers from this point**

First off, I did notice some minor grammar mistakes such as words repeated in sentences and a few misspellings. Not so much as to render the text annoying to read, but I thought I'd point it out nonetheless.

My biggest criticism would be the storyline itself. I felt there were a lot of things going on at once and it made it difficult to follow. Ishida's death was very abrupt with little foreshadowing (Though, this may be intentional), and up until this point, I felt his character and his personality weren't very touched on, leading me to feel a bit apathetic over what I assume was supposed to be a sad moment.

I also felt like the creepy moments in the game Chiharu borrows, Otome Legends, were a bit of an afterthought and could have been more integrated to truly give it an unnerving feel since I assume it is going to be a large plot point later on.

All in all, I believe it could be vastly improved by cutting down on some of the unnecessary character information and instead focusing on more foreshadowing for the dark twists that occur later on.

Some of the more positive things I enjoyed about the game:

The Otome Legends game Chiharu plays was unexpected and humorous to read through. The notes from the developer (though surprising to find, in a game of this genre) were also enjoyable.

I will definitely be sticking around for the full version to see how the story progresses, and to see if any changes end up being made.

(+2)

so this is horror?? man i am bad at reading

(+1)

Holy crap this was really good!!! Cant wait for the finished product but I enjoyed it a lot so far
It's hard finding good horror/comedy vns, thank you for this!!! The mini games were also really fun ^^

(+1)

This is me before playing the game. I wish I didn't look through the images. I literally just spoiled the whole game for myself. How does one forget?

It's ok, those images have context so you still need to play the game to find out what's exactly going on. Rest assure. In the future, just don't look at the images. Luckily there is still more to come that I haven't implemented yet.

(+1)

Oooh okay :)

(+1)

Hooo my god, this is the craziest VN I've played and I only have like a limited experience to that. This game has a lot of twists like one moment it's ridiculous to the point my cheeks are hurting from smiling and laughing, the next my heart is palpatating so hard holy hell. I love this game and I'm excited to see more of it!!

I loved this game at first but after some weird twist my heart shattered, I grew so attached to some of the characters LOL.

(+1)

Great game loved the story! I have a play through that I would like to put on youtube but what I do is I like to give each character a voice using text to speech giving it more of an anime feel and I was wondering if you would be able to lend me the text deluge to make the processes much easier and faster. Thanks!

Press the v button in the game for a pleasant surprise.

wow!! I did not know that this was possible thanks so much!!

Im surprised you guys also put mini games ✨ it's true that Naomi is sooo sus haha I like that there is "Amogus" in her first appearance lolol.

Oh gosh, I didn't notice the update. I really like this!

But im sad about Ishida's passing. I thought I could get more of his ending but no matter what it's only 1 so I guess that's for the full release hmm?

Edit : oh dang, no wonder there's something wrong. The one that load is the old version xD

(+1)
